Javier Regueiro (Lugano, 1965) is a Spanish national born and raised in Switzerland. He is a certified Massage Therapist (Swedish Institute of Massage Therapy, New York City), Rebirther (Body Electric School, Oakland, CA) and Avatar Master, and a student of “A Course In Miracles”.

He moved to Peru in 2004 to study Amazonian plant medicine and shamanism. During those early years, he focused on his own healing, working with indigenous and mestizo ayahuasqueros in the Iquitos and Pucallpa areas. As a result of what he achieved for his own healing, he decided to dedicate his life to working with Peruvian plant medicines. Since 2005 Javier has been a student of Don Francisco Montes Shuña, a plant medicine person and perfumero of Capanahua descent who was initiated into Ayahuasca and the plant medicine path by his grandmother Trinidad at the age of 6 in his native community of Tamanco in the Peruvian Amazon jungle. Don Francisco has lead Javier through months of shamanic diets. During that time he learning the use and healing properties of plant teachers such as Ayahuasca, Tobacco and Datura among many others. With his teacher’s blessing, he became a full-time ayahuasquero in 2006. Since that time Javier continues to deepen his practice by doing extended dietas in the Amazon under his teacher’s care and at the same time has been leading plant medicine ceremonies for groups and individuals, as well as extended dietas, at his Ayaruna Center in Pisac, Peru.

In 2015, desiring to retire, Javier’s teacher Don Francisco offered Javier the opportunity to buy his healing center, Sachamama Ethnobotanical Garden in Iquitos. After much meditation, Javier agreed that this was to be the next chapter of his work. He is now in the process of leaving the Sacred Valley and relocating to the Amazon jungle to continue his teacher’s legacy and work there.

In alignment with that purpose Javier has created the Ayaruna Project, whose main goal is the preservation of natural environments indispensable for the thriving of native cultures as well as the study, preservation and use of traditional plant medicine. His commitment is to make Ayahuasca, San Pedro and other plant medicines available to all people who feel called to use these medicines for personal healing and spiritual guidance.

He is the author of the books “Ayahuasca: Soul Medicine of the Amazon Jungle” and “San Pedro/Huachuma: Opening the Pathways of the Heart”, available now worldwide through Lifestyle Entrepreneurs Press in print, Kindle, and audiobook formats.
